SoBros Greatest Hits: Homegrown Review

Our look around the SoBros Network YouTube channel in an effort to migrate a lot of our video content somewhere on the site has spit us out at our review of Homegrown: Taproom & Marketplace. This was actually the first video review we ever did of an establishment. It started something that has become a bit of a staple of our brand. But, man – most of all, Brandon and I had some fun filming it.

It really doesn’t get any more DIY than SoBros Network. I mean, we’ve never let a little thing like production value keep us from making the content. If we did, there’d never be any content to make. Instead, I’m a firm believer that if you put yourself out there, and if you can reach the people who like what you do, they’ll forgive things like poor audio and a fucking airplane flying overhead when you’re trying to record.

Anyway, Homegrown was NOT a place I was very high on to begin with, but if you look at our Nashville Restaurant Power Rankings now that we have 14 in our catalog, it’s held up pretty well:

CURRENT NASHVILLE RESTAURANT RANKINGS

  1. Butcher & Bee (8.5/10)
  2. Nectar: Urban Cantina (8.44/10)
  3. Von Elrod’s (8.17/10)
  4. Catch 22 (Mount Juliet) (7.125/10)
  5. Homegrown (6.5/10)

I still maintain that it’s not going to be the first place I think of when I’m itching for a good meal. But, it’s a fun neighborhood bar with what is unquestionably the best beer tap in the Donelson/Hermitage area. Maybe I’ll have to give it another shot soon to update that rating.
