The 2018 SoBros Network’s ‘Spirit of Nashville’ Awards Winners Revealed

This all started as a simple idea that we kicked around for years, but seeing it in execution, it went better than we ever could have imagined. The city of Nashville means a whole hell of a lot to us, so it only made sense for us to get together with all of our staff and all of our readers and decide who the ‘Spirit of Nashville’ is to us.

Hundreds cast their ballot. I was pretty taken aback by that fact alone, but it’s something that tells me we may be onto something here.

Anyway, enough yammering – let’s get you folks what you came here for….the WINNERS:

Best Spot for a Beer – Tailgate Brewery

Gotta love the vibe out at Tailgate on Charlotte Pike. Not only do they have a great tap and great pizza, but they have a hell of a back yard to enjoy it all on. Nothing beats an afternoon out in West Nashville, enjoying the brews and the good company.

Voting Breakdown:

1. Tailgate Brewery – 37.1%
2. Yazoo Brewery – 32.5%
3. Cool Springs Brewery – 14.5%

Hot Chicken Deep Cut Award – Nadeen’s Hot Chicken and Waffles

This award was designed to recognize a unique spin on the ever so popular Nashville hot chicken. The Hot Chicken and Waffles at Nadeen’s Hermitage Haven is the best of the best. You better come hungry, though. Actually, you don’t even have to get the Hot Chicken and Waffles – the brunch menu at Nadeen’s makes it one of the most underrated spots in Hermitage altogether.

Voting Breakdown:

1. Nadeen’s Hot Chicken and Waffles – 35.3%
2. Party Fowl’s Hot Chicken Nachos – 34.1%
3. The Stillery’s Hot Chicken Mac n’ Cheese – 15.3%

Best Meal In Nashville – Butcher & Bee

I actually went out to Butcher & Bee for a quiet date night, not even meaning to do a full review of the place, back in the summer. But, guess what – I was so blown away with the food and the service, that I wrote one anyway. It makes for an amazing date night, and it would seem our readers agree that, in terms of quality, you won’t find any better in all of East Nashville.

Voting Breakdown:

1. Butcher & Bee – 37%
2. McNamara’s – 35.8%
3. Etch – 16%

Best Overall Spot In Nashville – Nectar: Urban Cantina

Nectar is relatively new to the Nashville scene, and it’s kind of tucked away out in Donelson, but man! They pulled off the upset here nonetheless! It’s one of my favorite new spots in town, and I even did a special power ranking of all the tacos on their menu once I tried them all. The SoBros readers agree – there’s simply no place like it. You get a good meal, the best margaritas in town, comfortable atmosphere, and a hell of a coconut mocha on your way out the door.

Voting Breakdown:

1. Nectar: Urban Cantina – 32.9%
2. The Goat – 28.2%
3. HiFi Clyde’s – 21.2%

Congrats to all the winners – the SoBros readership has spoken!
