Nashville Film Festival 2020: Big Guns Are Out for ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ Reunion

The Nashville Film Festival is getting the band back together for a colossal reunion of the 'O Brother Where Art Thou' cast.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an effect on this year’s film festival calendar, that’s for damn sure. The SoBros Network’s resident film critic, Brandon Vick, and myself had plans to hit the road and make three different festivals in person this year, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Guess that’s the case when there’s a virus spreading like crazy across the globe. But, in a way, we’ve actually been able to cover a lot more (shout out to Brittany Fernandez covering the Chattanooga Film Festival this year, too) than even we thought we’d cover this year because so many festivals are going virtual to salvage their years. Nashville is no different, and they are stepping up BIG TIME with this virtual reunion of the O Brother Where Art Thou cast scheduled for the 2020 online festival.

That’s right. In honor of the 20th anniversary of this classic being released, we’re getting Tim Blake Nelson, John Torturro, and even the big gun himself, George Clooney, will be interviewed as apart of the special. There will also be some musical performances – and I dare say you couldn’t have an O Brother Where Art Thou reunion without some sort of musical tribute. They don’t call this one a ‘musical comedy’ for nothing – some of the songs are just as iconic as the movie itself. I don’t know that there will ever be another panty-dropper quite like “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow.”

You wanna talk about some WAP? The Soggy Bottom Boys brought the WAP before bringin’ the WAP was cool.

I absolutely loved O Brother Where Art Thou…wait. Loved? I still love this one. I haven’t made my definitive list of my favorite movies of all time, but I can assure you, off the top of my head, this one’s going to be pretty high on the list. So, to say I’m stoked about this one would be an understatement.

You can watch the reunion from October 1st through the 7th. A VIP Badge will get you access, or if you’re just in it strictly for this reunion, you can buy it alone for just $12. Can’t wait.
