Saturday night in in Las Vegas offers an insane UFC fight card. There are three title fights on the card and some really good non-title action.

The main card kicks off with Uriah Faber vs Petr Yan. Faber is coming off an unexpected finish of Ricky Simon after his “retirement.” Faber is a huge underdog at +360 against the favorite Yan. As a long time follower of the sport, there is nothing not to like about Faber. He has been around forever and I was happy for his retirement. I was not looking forward to his fight against Simon and thought he was going to regret coming out of retirement. “The California Kid” was able to pull off the upset, but I do not like this matchup for him. Yan is riding an eight fight win streak and is looking to add a big resume builder with a win over Faber. Can Uriah pull more magic out of his hat?

The most talked about non-title fight takes place between Marlon Moraes and Jose Aldo. This is a new weight class for Aldo and his weight cut has been the talk of the week. There have been some scary pictures of Aldo looking very malnourished. He did do an interview yesterday where he stated “I have never felt better.” It will be interesting to see how the cut impacts his performance. Aldo is a first ballot Hall of Famer and can never be counted out of a fight. He does come up against an extremely dangerous Moraes. Moraes is coming of a title fight loss to Henry Cejudo. A win over Aldo might put him back in contention for another title fight. Vegas has Moraes as the favorite, but this one could shape up to be a war.

The first title fight of the night is between Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie. I am going to keep this short and sweet. Nunes is a monster and I don’t see anyone beating her. Vegas has her at a -305 favorite. Randamie is riding an impressive win streak with wins over Holm, Pennington, and Ladd, but I just don’t seeing her being able to answer the power and volume that Nunes throws.

The co-main event takes place between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski. A lot of “MMA Twitter” talk has been talking about the power of Volkanovski and his ability to drop Holloway. Vegas has the odds of this one pretty close with Holloway being a -165 betting favorite. I think this fight has the potentially to be a war. With Volkanovski’s power, it will be interesting to see if Max can weather a storm given his issues with concussions in the past. I think this has FOTN potential and really could see it going either way.

The main event features some extreme bad blood between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington. This one is going to bet interesting. I can see it being over in the first round or being a five fight violent war. Colby brings a pace and volume that seems to overwhelm his opponents. Usman is out for blood as Covington has been aggressively talking for years about “Snoozman.” I really see this fight being a coin flip and for that reason I am going to take the betting underdog, Covington at +150 odds.

Fade Stans Picks – Covington, Moraes, Halloway.
