We had damn near reached the end of our rope on our last night in town for SCI weekend 2019. I distinctly remember telling “The General” John Mosley, “bruh, if you wanna just chill tonight, that’s cool. We don’t have to keep working – we’ve checked every box we set out to check this weekend.” Being the grinder he is, Mose just looked at me and said, “I talked to the IFHY crew…they’re up for doing the show if we are…”
I believe I said something to the extent of “can’t stop won’t stop,” and the next thing I knew, we crammed 12 people into our room at the fabled Best Western Heritage Inn (even though RHog was just sleeping on the bed) for what would turn out to be one of the most fun podcasts I’ve ever helped produce on this fuckin’ website.
I don’t even remember how much actual wrestling we talked about – but it was a downright hoot as kids in the 50s would say. JRose, Shawn Kemp, Billie Starkz, and Johnathan Wolf piled in to talk about the history of IFHY, the number of members they’ve let in only to kick out, and of course, what ‘IFHY’ actually stands for.
Then, we talk about the weekend, aptly titled #SCIFHY2. Kemp and Wolf put on two of the best matches of the weekend, taking on The Smokin’ Budz at Crux Wrestling’s Hey Jealousy, and Violence Is Forever at SCI Futures. Wolf created the highlight of the weekend when he dove off the top rope to the outside, taking out a plethora of good and useful chairs with him.
These guys are a goddamn electric factory.
To quote one Twitter user that I can’t recall off the top of my head and am too lazy to actually look up, this is “a glorious shit show of a podcast.” Legit top 10 SoBros podcast of all time.
