Podcast: A Deep Dive Into the 2018-19 St. Louis Blues

The 2018-19 St. Louis Blues defied over 50 years of history when they won the Stanley Cup just a couple of weeks ago. At one point during the season, the Blues had the fewest points in the entire NHL. Yet, they managed to go on an 11-game winning streak, surge into the playoffs, and win the whole damn thing.

Friend of the brand, RHog, is a longtime Blues fan (maybe ‘sufferer’ is the right term?). He was generous enough to join me on the debut episode of Sports Punch, a new show we’ve launched on SoBros Network specifically to cover the sports landscape outside of Nashville. I couldn’t think of a better place to start than with one of my best friends, who has had quite the amazing journey as a Blues fan.

There’s hockey talk, sure – we go back as far as last season when discussing the origins of this miracle run. Coaching changes, personnel changes – it’s all there. But, there’s also a lot of “life talk” in there, too – it’s a reflection of just how much sports mean to respective fan bases, and how we form deep bonds with those around us, family and friends, over our favorite teams.
