Avengers: Endgame Character Power Rankings

I know, I know. I’m late to the ball game here. But, listen – shit’s been happening. Our Patreon subscribers know a bit about that, but it’s been a bit of a transition period for the SoBros Network. Nonetheless, this is one of my favorite pieces to write – after every big Avengers movie, I like to power rank the characters because why not? I saw Avengers: Endgame about a month ago at this point.

Holy shit – has it already been that long?

Well, anyway – this is evergreen enough to still publish. I don’t even care if no one reads this. I’m getting this out my queue. What’s that? I’m having a conversation with myself in an article? I’m rambling? Okay.

You can read our review here, but in short, Brandon and I both liked it. I think I can speak for the bulk of the SoBros team when I say we all liked it. My take is that Endgame is the better movie, but Infinity War is the more watchable movie. Infinity War has a lot more action, while Endgame is a lot more satisfying.

One thing both movies have done well is give every character their big moment. Makes it harder to power rank, but that’s what good journalists do NBD, so let’s give it a go.

Avengers: Endgame Character Power Rankings

10. Rocket – Let’s not lose sight of how important Rocket was to retrieving the Reality Stone thanks to Fat Thor being so preoccupied with the past. Plus, he’s Rocket! He’s just cool.

9. Captain Marvel – Carol Danvers wasn’t as big a factor in Endgame as I thought she’d be. She’s in the top 10 for flying herself in and through an entire fucking spaceship and wrecking Thanos’ army, which admittedly, is pretty cool.

8. Ronin – Ronin, Hawkeye, whatever you want to call him, Barton had a killer role to play in Endgame. Not to mention, it’s always cool to see him kick total ass. But, his scene fighting off outriders to keep the Stark Gauntlet safe was good, good stuff.

7. Doctor Strange – Lest we forget, Doctor Strange pretty well set this whole thing in motion. But in Endgame, he gets high marks (along with Wong for that matter) for opening up the portals

6. Thor – Fat Thor gets all the points for being hilarious. He finally gets Mjolnir back and holds it and Stormbreaker in a kickass fight against Thanos. Now, let’s get that Thor-Guardians of the Galaxy team-up.

5. Black Widow – A lot of people were surprised to see her go since she has a solo movie coming out. That was a bit of shock, but we gotta give her props for the ultimate pony-up in order for the team to get the Soul Stone.

4. Captain America – He never gave up. He was always willing to lead the charge. And, he finally wielded Mjolnir. Most importantly, he finally got to live the life he always wanted to. A nice, peaceful exit for ol’ Steve Rogers.

3. Ant-Man – Keep in mind, this is just for Endgame. I think we need to give Ant-Man his due for being as good as he’s been so far. Specifically in Endgame, he’s the guy who was the catalyst for the comeback. Him going skyscraper and kicking ass as Giant-Man helped, too.

2. Hulk – What do we have to do to get a standalone Mark Ruffalo Hulk movie? I mean, damn – come on. Hulk gets the #2 spot for putting the Stark Gauntlet on, snapping, and bringing all of our snapped heroes from Infinity War back.

1.Iron Man – How can you not go with Tony Stark here? Just when it looked like things couldn’t get any worse for the Avengers, Iron Man sneaks up with a Stark-made Infinity Gauntlet of his own and snaps Thanos and his army away. This whole thing started with Iron Man, so it’s fitting that it ended with Iron Man, too. When it comes to the MCU, Tony Stark has been #TheGuy.

What do you think? Who’s the Avengers: Endgame MVP?
