Podcast: The Career of Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is one of the most interesting guys in Hollywood. From his wide array of talents to his eclectic selections in movie roles, he’s a modern-day Renaissance Man. With John Wick 3 hitting theaters, “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick suggested we get together for a new episode of Brandon’s Box Office In Your Mouth to talk about his career in depth.

Reeves got his start in the late 1980s, but it wasn’t until 1994’s Speed when he got his first lead role. But, he turned down a role in Speed 2 that would’ve paid him $11M to go tour with his band and do theatre. I wonder how things would’ve been different for Reeves had he taken that role in Speed 2, and Brandon weighs in with his opinion.

He had a string of critical failures to close out the century, but during the early 2000s, perhaps his star never burned brighter. Fast forward to the 2010s, and he’s undergone a career revival of sorts, playing John Wick in the action trilogy.

On this episode, we discuss our favorite Keanu Reeves flicks, his interesting career trajectory, and of course, John Wick vs. Neo. Listen to the full episode of Brandon’s Box Office In Your Mouth here:

All of this led to the first ever ‘SoBros Go to the Movies’ event. We all got together with some of our closest friends, and went out to see John Wick 3. You can catch mine and Brandon’s video review here:
