Potential Royal Rumble Surprise Entrants (2019)

Let me get this out of the way early. This site is not a damn dirt sheet. We don’t have sources within the WWE – we’re just here to shoot the shit, and that’s just what I’m going to do today. I just can’t write that in a headline, y’know? I can’t type – “Here are some potential Royal Rumble surprise entrants that “Big Natural” Stoney Keeley would like to see but can’t confirm with any reliable sources.” That’s just too long and our SEO plug-in would yell at me until I fixed it. Instead, I’m going to simplify the headline and give you guys a heads up in the intro paragraph.

You’re disappointed? I’m sorry – but at least I’m transparent enough to let you know now before you get into the article and realize that I am in no way, shape, or form connected with the WWE. Just a man and his website, bullshittin’ about who he’d like to see enter the Royal Rumble.

Now, some of these guess could actually come true. There’s actually reason behind some of my prognostications – mainly, that’s due to timing. The WWE always loves to throw us some curveballs come Rumble time, and I’m looking for guys who are available and fit the bill.

Okay, well, since I’ve completely shot my credibility, which is the #1 rule of all talented writers, I’ll get on with the show here.

Potential Royal Rumble Surprise Entrants (2019)

Pete Dunne – Dunne’s #1 on my list. He’s bided his time as WWE UK Champion, but his 2018 was a banner year. Give the man a cookie – put him in the Royal Rumble! Stellar match after stellar match, and I have to say – he’s one of my favorites in the game right now.

Bray Wyatt – What has Wyatt been up to? It’s been ages since we’ve last seen him. I’m not sure the WWE has a damn clue what to do with him, but he could be one of those big time splash returns in the Rumble match.

Buddy Murphy – Along the same lines as Dunne, if you’re looking to reward guys for having a breakout 2018 on one of the non-Raw-or-SmackDown brands, Murphy is definitely a candidate for that.

Aleister Black – This year’s ‘Road to WrestleMania’ feels wide open. If ever there was a year for some surprise guy to win it, it’s 2019. Black could be that surprise NXT call-up to do it, as it’s starting to feel like Black has run his course on the yellow brand.

The Undertaker – Rumor has it that he’s going to be the headliner for this year’s Hall of Fame class. But, we still don’t know for sure that his career is definitely over. If he’s going for one more marquee ‘Mania match, he could show up on Sunday to start the build.

Rob Van Dam – Hasn’t the idea of bringing RVD back for a good run been kicked around? Or, did I just read that on some bullshit wrestling site that I’m not remembering properly?

Batista – Remember when we got that tease of a Batista vs. Triple H match? Think it was an indicator that maybe Batista is gearin’ up for one more good run?

Ken Shamrock – Hear me out. This Rumble is going to need some Attitude Era pizazz. Shamrock is one of the last few guys from that time period who HASN’T previously been a surprise.

Dan Severn – If you don’t go with Shamrock, you have to go with the real Beast. But, you could also go with both and lead to a big time ‘Mania program between the two. Let’s bring back the lion’s den while we’re at it.

Rene Dupree – Who is ONE guy from Ruthless Aggression era WWE who deserved a run but never got one? If this isn’t the year for Rene Dupree to get what is rightfully his, then I don’t that we’ll ever see one.

Lucky Cannon – We finally get the NXT call-up we always wanted but never got.

Nick Gage – MDK, LFG.
