Podcast: The Career of M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan is one of the most polarizing creators in cinema history. The guy went from The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs to The Happening and The Visit. Now, he’s back in the movie landscape with Glass, in theaters now. I was fortunate to hop on the latest edition of Brandon’s Box Office In Your Mouth with “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick for an episode dedicated solely to the rise, fall, and subsequent…re-rise(?) of the enigmatic filmmaker.

We talk about our favorite Shyamalan movies, and why we appreciate the master of the twist. Where did things go so wrong? Or, in other words, how in the FUCK did we end up at The Happening? Was The Visit really a satirical comedy, or were they just trying to put the negative press in the spin zone? Was doing Split and/or Glass officially enough to bring him “back?” Or, will he never be able to recapture the magic of the early 2000s?
