Podcast: Evaluating Mike Vrabel, Marcus Mariota, and the 2018 Titans MVP

There’s a lot to unpack now that the 2018 Tennessee Titans football season is in the books. And, that’s just what myself and Herbie Brooks do on the latest Nashville Sports Night Podcast. On this episode, we’re putting a bow on the season, evaluating Mike Vrabel, discussing Marcus Mariota, and much more.

What are your initial thoughts on the job Vrabel did in year one? Did his work fail to meet, meet, or succeed expectations? How about losing Matt LaFleur and the search for a new OC? Would the Titans have had a winning season this year if Mike Mularkey was at the helm and do you consider this year’s 9-7 season a disappointment? We hit all these questions in our season wrap-up.

Then, we get into the meat and potatoes of the Titans quarterback situation. Are people right to call for Mariota’s head? Or, are the Titans in a decent position? Does the team need an upgrade at backup? Why do people forget about how Steve McNair started his career with the Titans?

How about the progress of Derrick Henry? Was that a flash in the pan or indicative of the Titans running back turning a corner?

We talk about who the 2018 Titans MVP would be if such an award existed, and we conclude the show talking about the three biggest areas of need for the Titans heading into the offseason.
