Jon Snow Is the Favorite to “Win” The Game of Thrones

In Entertainment, game of thrones, Television

Jon Snow has arguably had one of the most dramatic and interesting character arcs on Game of Thrones. It’s hard to pin such a broad-sweeping story down to a single main character, but if there were just one, you could reasonably argue that he’s it. Well, the folks have Bovada have released their official updated odds to rule Westeros by the end of the saga, and Snow is at the top of the list.

I’m just going to come right out and say it. If you bet on Snow here, you might as well just give your money away.

It’s too easy. It’s too nice and neat for Snow to end up as the king. I mean, think about it – it just doesn’t jive with the vibe that George R.R. Martin has created for the Game of Thrones universe. It doesn’t line up – if Snow ends up on the throne, that’s too predictable.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say that it goes against everything we know about this saga. Martin is going to rip our hearts out. I would actually say Snow is more likely to die than to win it all.

If I’m putting money down on this bet, I’m putting my money on the Night King. Calling my shot now – that’s the big epic finale. All of the humans die because humans are big pieces of shit and the Night King and the White Walkers stand tall. Of all the favorites, I figure Daenarys may be the most likely. Probably the safest bet. I like Sansa there as a dark horse, and if you’re really going for the jackpot, why not throw some money down on Gendry? I don’t know – Snow would be pretty far down the list for me.

Regardless, I can’t wait for season eight – is it April yet?
