Dan Enos to be Named Alabama OC

According to news that broke earlier today, the offensive coordinator vacancy could already be filled for the Alabama Crimson Tide. With former OC Mike Locksley taking the head coaching position at Maryland, Nick Saban is expected to promote Dan Enos to the OC position. Enos has served as Assistant Head Coach/ Co-Offensive Coordinator/ QB coach for the Crimson Tide this season.

This should come as welcome news for players and fans both, as Enos has created a reputation as the “Quarterback Whisperer” for the Tide. With the strides that Jalen Hurts has made in his role as backup QB, Enos should get a lot of credit. Hurts has made incredible strides as a passer, while the work of Tua Tagovailoa should speak for itself. With the kind of work Enos has put in, it would be logical for him to be the leading candidate for several coaching vacancies. Rumors tied Enos to several coordinator positions before being named as Alabama’s new play caller.

It should be a smooth transition for Enos and Saban, who have known each other for several years. Enos was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback coach at Arkansas under Bret Bielema, with Enos joining the Alabama staff last January after Bielema was fired. Now, he gets to take over the play calling for the second ranked scoring offense in the country.

This could be the best fit Alabama could have hoped for at the OC position. Don’t expect to see any drop off in the high powered Tide offense.
