Watching LA Park Deck the Shit Out of a Fan Never Gets Old

LA Park is one of the greatest sensations in independent wrestling today. Apparently, last week was his birthday, as luchablog tweeted out this classic gif of him punching a fan directly in the fucking face. I know we have a lot of wrestling fans who read SoBros Network, but not all of you may be deep divers who check out the stuff like this regularly. Or, maybe you’re not a wrestling fan at all, and are simply here to watch a grown man deck another.

Regardless, enjoy:

Love the move, obviously. You won’t get a cleaner shot on someone than that. It just doesn’t happen. I’d like to bring up two points as I break down this video.

First and foremost, the fan. What the fuck are you thinking? Who goes to a wrestling show and decides to try and pull the masks off of the wrestlers? Much less, a LEGEND like LA Park! This is just dumb as shit, but hey – shooters shoot, I guess. This man just couldn’t live with the mystery anymore. He had to see LA Park’s face, and that was the only opportunity he had – just sittin’ there ready to risk it all.

Second, if you’re a pro wrestler, where does the opportunity to legitimately knock the hell out of someone rank on your bucket list? I think I would relish the opportunity. I think it’d be one of those things that I thought about doing “one day.” Like, “ah, man – my goals in wrestling? I’m looking forward to working for WWE and getting the opportunity to see how hard I can hit someone in the face.” I don’t know for sure, though.

Would I love to be immortalized in a classic gif like this? Probably, but as much as we joke about it, shit can be dangerous. I don’t know if I’d want to be in a situation where I’m having to defend myself. Luckily, this jackass was just trying to rip LA Park’s mask off, but look at guys like Classy Freddie Blassie back in the day. Somebody stabbed him! A fan stabbed the guy because they hated him so much! So, when you think about something like that as a possible means to cross ‘punching a fan’ off the bucket list, it’s not as appealing.

I don’t know where I stand on the issue, but one thing is for certain. That was probably the last time homeboy tried to pull off a luchador’s mask in the middle of a match.
