NFL Week 9 2018 is now in the books, so it’s time for your boy “Big Natural” Stoney Keeley to take a look back and sort out the best, or most hilarious, moments from the week that was.

Trade deadline madness

Amari Cooper to Dallas, Golden Tate to Philadelphia, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to Washington, Demaryius Thomas to Houston, Dante Fowler to the Rams – I don’t know that I ever recall such a crazy tread deadline period. I love pairing Clinton-Dix with D.J. Swearinger in Washington, and the Texans made a savvy move to get Thomas. As for Cooper and Tate, well, time will tell. A lot of fans here in Nashville were disappointed that Jon Robinson didn’t make a move at the deadline, but that’s nonsense.

Reports surfaced yesterday that JRob was in on Cooper, even willing to give up the first round pick for him. But, he wanted to swap second round picks (which would’ve essentially given them the 33rd overall pick), and that’s when the deal fell through. So, calm your tits, Titans fans. I’m not defending the moves he’s made, the jury’s still out on this offseason. But, don’t act like he’s completely incompetent in a situation that you don’t know the half of.

Brady reminds Rodgers who the G.O.A.T. is

The prime time quarterback duel on Sunday Night Football was being billed as the “two greatest quarterbacks of all time.” Yeah, okay – maybe that’s a bit premature, but they gotta market the show, right? Nonetheless, Tom Brady went out there and outperformed Aaron Rodgers, going 22/35 for 294 yards and a touchdown. Just when we’re ready to say Brady’s done, he reminds us of just who the hell he is.

The Saints are the new top dogs

A definitive win over the Los Angeles Rams means the Saints officially take over the top spot in the NFL. This is a real contender for the Super Bowl, and might even get some love as the favorite. Who knows? One thing is for sure: WR Michael Thomas won the weekend:

Ring the damn bell. The touchdown celebration contest is over.

Chargers, Texans legit threats in the AFC

This season has been Chiefs, Patriots, and then everyone else in the AFC so far. But, the Texans and Chargers have both emerged as legitimate contenders to the AFC crown. The Texans have won six straight and have taken control of the AFC South. Meanwhile, the Chargers have won five straight to get to 6-2. Don’t look now, but the AFC race might be a little more interesting than we thought after all.

J.K. Scott with the feel good story of the weekend

The Bears ruined my parlay

Yep – I was up in New Jersey over the weekend, so you know I had to hit the sports books. I put some money down on a few bets, and had Buffalo at +9.5 on every single one of them. Was that a stupid move? Probably. But, that should have been easy money. Fuck the Bills. I even had a $5 bet on a 15-team parlay, and only missed two! TWO! I was that close to winning $100,000. FML.

The Raiders are easily the worst team in football

Cue the “would Alabama beat the Raiders” talk. The Raiders SUCK.

Chris Johnson retires

CJ2K was kind of cooked anyway, but he came out yesterday and officially announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons with the Titans, Jets, and Cardinals. Dude was a one of a kind type of electric threat with the ball in his hand. He’s one of my favorite Titans of all time, and I genuinely believe the guy deserves some consideration for Canton.

Salute!
