Welcome all degenerate gamblers back into my weekly American football column, Tank the 401k. Here, I will divulge all my professional eagle-eyed opinions on the upcoming week. Call your bookie and empty those retirement accounts!

Whew – hot damn, what a week. I don’t even want to type anything. I’m afraid I’ve typed too much – don’t want to jinx my streak. So….LFG!

BIG NATURAL’S TANK THE 401K PICKS

NCAAF: Kentucky +6.5 @ Missouri – I’m baffled by this spread. I know that Mizzou has a high-powered offense, and if they score 65, the Wildcats probably aren’t capable of matching that on offense. But, we’re losing sight of how good Kentucky’s defense is. Josh Allen and company are going to eat Missouri’s offensive line up.

NCAAF: Vanderbilt -1.5 @ Arkansas – The Razorbacks are coming off of a cathartic win. The Commodores still have bowl aspirations, albeit they’re dwindling. I like the Vandy defense to slow down Arkansas enough to win by at least a touchdown. They’ve played well against Florida and Kentucky. There’s every reason to think they’re the far superior team to Arkansas right now.

NFL: Washington -1 @ New York Giants – At 1-6, the Giants have passed the point of no return. They’re cooked, and the way the ‘Skins defended against the Dallas Cowboys, I find it hard to believe the Giants are going to have enough offense to get the win.

NFL: Carolina +2 vs. Baltimore – Pretty similar teams here, but I like the Panthers. They’re being a little underrated in the national conversation. The Ravens may be allowing the fewest points in the NFL, but the Panthers have a top tier defense of their own. The difference in this matchup is the ground game of the Panthers. They’re currently the 4th best rushing team in the league, so I expect them to grind out a close one.

NFL: New Orleans PICK @ Minnesota – Neither of these teams boast the defense they had a season ago. So, I think we’re going to have ourselves a good old fashioned quarterback duel on Sunday Night Football. Minnesota is currently 14th in the NFL in points per game, while the Saints are second. Who do like here? Drew Brees or Kirk Cousins? Yeah…that’s what I thought.

W-L Record: (6-1-1)
Last Week: (5-0)
On the Season: (27-11-1) – 71%
