Tyrel Dodson Should Have Smacked the Shit Out of Jimbo Fisher

Tyrel Dodson did something that Jimbo Fisher apparently didn’t like too much during the Aggies 24-17 win over the putrid Arkansas Razorbacks. You’ll see below that Fisher grabbed him by the face mask and jerked his head around a little bit.

Shame on Fisher. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just lost his cool, but that’s pretty fuckin’ silly. I don’t care what happens, you absolutely cannot put your hands on a player in this fashion – maybe a shove or a push on the shoulder and I’m not writing this. But, you grab the kid’s face mask and jerk his head around like that? That shit is not cool.

I can tell you if anyone did that to me, there would be a problem. So, in my book, Dodson had every right to stand up for himself. I’m not saying you deck your head coach (though that would’ve been hilarious), but you let him know he’s out of line. Maybe with a nice open-hand smack to the bare face. Consequences be damned.

By the way, is there any other world where this is okay? Like, if your boss walked up to you right now and grabbed you by the shirt and shook you around, would that be acceptable? NO! Your boss would be in big trouble, because it’s just a generally shitty thing to do, and there are laws that protect people in that situation.

I realize I’m blurring the lines a little too much between sarcastic commentary and real life disgust. Like I said, I understand he probably just lost his cool, but this is the dumb type of shit that makes people look at football and wonder why we give it so much money.

Also, I apologize to Arkansas fans – calling your team putrid was completely unnecessary no matter how true it is. I was simply fired up and high on life at the moment.
