We Haven’t Talked Enough About Kid Rock Being Named Grand Marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade

We missed this announcement last week. On me – I’ll own up to that. I let a big Nashville story slip through the cracks, and I am willing to accept the consequences of that. But, it appears as though well-established Nashville icon, Kid Rock, is going to be the Grand Marshal at the 2018 Nashville Christmas Parade.

The 65th Annual Nashville Christmas Parade steps off on December 1, 2018.

Rock artist Kid Rock will be the Grand Marshal. There will be a special performance from Country Music star LeAnn Rimes.

Other performers include Bill Anderson, Ty Herndon, Jamie O’Neal, the cast of Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Melinda Doolittle, Miss Tennessee Christine Williamson and more. And Santa will be there with his reindeer, along with character balloons and marching bands from across the region.

Nothing says Christmas time, Santa Claus, and reindeer like Kid Rock. I just love this city – I love that we went from noted beacon of virtue Mike Fisher in 2017 to Kid Rock in 2018. Only in Nashville – we want you to know about what good, caring people we are. But, then, we also want you to know how much we love to party. That’s what this move says to me.

In a way, nights in Nashville can go one of either two ways and Mike Fisher and Kid Rock actually form the perfect spectrum. Believe me, though – I’ve had way more Kid Rock nights than I have Mike Fisher nights.

Man, what really bums me about this is that I’ll be out of town for the parade this year. Hopefully, we’ll be able to work out some sort of coverage, as we felt it was a huge missed opportunity last year. It’s one of the biggest events on Nashville’s calendar – the SoBros should’ve been there!

I even put ‘2018 Christmas parade’ on the 2018 Vision Board, and now I won’t be able to go. And, not only will I not be able to go, but KID ROCK IS GOING TO BE THE FREAKING GRAND MARSHAL!

This is a sad, tragic day in my life.

Last year’s parade aired 237 times across the country, reaching 13 million people in 48 states, including Hawaii.

As a side note, ever since the Tennessee Titans drafted Marcus Mariota, Nashville has been big in Hawaii. They even love our parades apparently.

LFG.
