Brett Ison: “That Automatically Makes You an Enemy”

We’re closing in on another #SUPsunday, which means it’s about time for Brett Ison to throw another beating. The record speaks for itself with WINS over all three members of The Carnies plus a victory over Righteous Jesse back in February in a match that can only be described as “Ri-goddamn-diculous.” He’s had a year to talk about but the guy is nowhere near finished fucking shit up in 2018. Sunday, he and O’Shay Edwards (another certified BAMF) will team with a mystery partner for a (potentially) final showdown with 2/3 of The Carnies joined by A.J. Gray. I was able to talk to Ison yesterday, just a few hours after the announcement that Curt Stallion would have to miss Sunday’s show.

JM: You’ve cleared through The Carnies and AJ is technically coming off a loss what do you ‘get’ out of this matchup?

BI: It’s a good question and I mean if you look at it you could say nothing is gained or you could say I have it all to lose? The only other man in this match that I haven’t met in the ring is AJ.  Now was there any ill will towards him? No, not at all from me it’s just wrong place wrong time but now…now he’s on the other side of the line from me and my squad. That automatically makes you an enemy.

JM: For everyone that doesn’t know, what’s your history with O’Shay?

BI: Ah yeah big homie. It will all make sense..in another state, another promotion. A booker wanted to pair me and O’Shay up as a team and against The Carnies.. first time teaming just felt right, like we had teamed together for years. Both like minded individuals. Both appreciate a good fight win or lose. That night we came up short to The Carnies…we saw our moment and we took it at SUP. I don’t think that day has left our minds or anyone that watched that show live, watched it on Powerbomb TV or read a review.

JM: It’s official that Curt Stallion won’t be in Nashville on Sunday. Does this change the game plan at all? I know it’s a fresh announcement but I’ve got to ask..any idea on who you/O’Shay may have in mind?

BI: No, nothing honestly changes. I wish Curt could be there with us because he brings an element of surprise cause he’s just one crazy mother fucker but the plan is simple. Batter and embarrass all three of them.

You never know really man. My inboxes have had some heavy traffic of those who are willing to go to war but I guess you and everyone else will see. I believe we know who we got and who we trust though. You’ll see.

JM: Do you close the chapter on The Carnies Sunday?

BI: No, I don’t think it will ever be over. The roots are bloodsoaked.

Brett Ison is ‘unfuckwithable’ y’all.

Brett, O’Shay and ??? square off with Kerry Awful, Tripp Cassidy and A.J. Gray this Sunday when Southern Underground Pro presents ‘Don’t Look In The Basement East.’
