Big Natural’s Best of the NFL: Week 2, 2018

NFL Week 2 2018 is now in the books, so it’s time for your boy “Big Natural” Stoney Keeley to take a look back and sort out the best, or most hilarious, moments from the week that was.

Big Natural’s Best NFL Week 2, 2018

Another zany week in the NFL. We had jaw dropping action from Thursday all the way to last night. After Week 2, I’m feeling a little bit better about my Super Bowl prediction of Chargers-Saints. Both of those teams got wins yesterday, even if it was against the Bills and Browns, it all counts the same.

My Titans got in the win column after a huge divisional win against the Texans. That division looks like it’s going to be something else. So doesYour current yardage stat leaders are Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Breida, and DeSean Jackson…just as we all thought it would be. Now, let’s hit some highlights.

Bortles over Brady

The Jacksonville Jaguars beat up the New England Patriots in a re-match of the 2017 AFC Championship. Not only that, but Blake Bortles outplayed the great Tom Brady. His 377 yards and four touchdowns topped Brady’s 234 yards and two touchdowns. This was a battle of supremacy in the AFC, and the Jags established their dominance. At this point, are they the favorites to win the AFC?

The Ryan Fitzpatrick Drip

UM – need I say more? If so, click here. The Bucs are 2-0 after defeating the Saints and the Eagles…two of the NFC’s final four from a season ago. This offense is DEADLY.

Vontae Davis quit at halftime

I wrote about this at length yesterday, but it’s too funny not to mention here, too. The Bills cornerback legit just walked into the locker room at halftime, changed into his street clothes, chucked a deuce, and retired. Middle of the game – he just quit. He walked out! Lorenzo Alexander was none too happy, but hey – nothing you can do about it. The best part is that Davis got a $5M bonus for making the opening day active roster (lolololololol).

Things are bad in Buffalo. The Bills lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 31-20.

Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the league right now, @ me

10 touchdowns in two games – it’s unbelievable. I think a lot of people anticipated that he’d be a decent quarterback in the future, but this? Naahhhhhh. The Kansas City Chiefs look like they’re the best offense in the AFC, maybe even the entire NFL. Mahomes just adds a dynamic to that offense that Alex Smith didn’t have. Nothing against Smith – he’s one of the most underrated quarterbacks in NFL history – but he doesn’t have the rocket arm that Mahomes has. What’s more impressive is that Mahomes seems to have picked up on Smith’s penchant for protecting the ball. He’s a legit MVP candidate, alongside Fitzpatrick, at this point in the year.

Khalil Mack is good at football

Defensive player of the year. That is all.

Meanwhile, the Giants may have a QB problem…

Wellllllllllp….everyone thought that adding Saquon Barkley and beefing up that Giants offensive line would take some of the pressure off of Eli Manning. Surely, adding Pat Shurmur was going to lead to an improvement from 2017! Well, if this 0-2 start is any indication, the Giants could very well have a quarterback problem. Manning has not been good.

The Bengals are legit

I like ’em. Just wanted to take a victory lap up here. They beat the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, and that Week 1 win over the Indianapolis Colts looks a lot better after Week 2. They’re the best looking team in the AFC North right now, and these guys could be in the hunt come season’s end.

Another week, another tie

Hope we get one every week. The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings tied, so we’ll have to wait to see who’s the real alpha dog in the NFC North until their next meeting. With the Chicago Bears looking tough, this is going to be a tough division to win. Kirk Cousins looks like he’s capable of taking this Vikings offense to the next level.

Who’s the best?

My quick NFL Power Rankings for the week:

  1. Los Angeles Rams
  2. Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  5. Cincinnati Bengals
  6. Minnesota Vikings
  7. Green Bay Packers
  8. Philadelphia Eagles
  9. New England Patriots
  10. Miami Dolphins

Current Super Bowl Prediction: Kansas City vs. Los Angeles
