Was the A+ Effort on This Shooting Star Press Worth the Broken Everything?

If you’ve read SoBros Network long enough, you know that there’s a strong core of us who are big time wrestling fans. Now, we don’t cover the wrestling world every day, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t paying attention. Take this clip, for instance – just scrolling through the Gram and come across this, and I knew right away this required some serious journalistic analysis.

As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this down.

It takes explosiveness and it takes commitment to execute this move properly. I don’t think he had the explosiveness, considering the way he just hung in the air there for what felt like an eternity. But, he very obviously didn’t have the commitment. So, we won’t ever know if he actually did have the explosiveness, and that’s kind of a shame. If he had committed to the rotation, well……sure, he still would’ve landed on the cold hard ground. But, at least the form would’ve been flawless.

But, one thing we know is that this man knows how to put on a show. He was born to entertain. Just look at all the people eagerly awaiting the jump! That’s as big a crowd as Jackie Fargo used to draw down at the Nashville Fairgrounds! Regardless of his current medical condition, this man delivered on that promise to entertain. That’s the mark of a good showman.

I like the old dude who the camera focuses on at the end. If you want raw emotional reaction, that’s it. You can see the amazement on this guy’s face, and then, that slowly turns into his existential wondering, “what have I done with my life to get here?”

This is almost a masterpiece of art now that I stop and think about it. Almost.
