Ladies, Watch Out for Weirdos Roaming Around Nashville West Shopping Center

I’m not going to lie – I definitely take being a man for granted sometimes. When I read stories like this, it reminds me of concerns I’ll likely never face. When I’m strolling through a parking lot late at night, I’m probably picking my nose or humming along to some song, not really worrying about people following me around. Well, creepy stuff like that has happened to at least a couple of women out at Nashville West at night. So, I just wanted to take this opportunity to pass word along and remind everyone to stay vigilante.

Some women are reporting creepy moments in the parking lot with strange men.

Thursday night two different incidents and two different stores just a yards apart.

The women posted about their experiences on Facebook, men lurking around and following them to their cars.

Man, the growth of Nashville is sure exciting, but I tell people all the time – the more Nashville grows into a big city, the more “big city” problems we get with it. Now, we got men out there lurking and acting weird in shopping center parking lots at night.

Here’s what the women said happened.

One said she was inside Target and noticed a man staring at her.

She said he followed her around the store, said he liked her shirt and then showed up at the checkout by her even though he had nothing to buy.

Fuckin’ Target? Is nothing sacred? Like, I might expect this outside a Wal-Mart. But, a Target? Have some damn decency, perverts.

The other incident happened in the Ross parking lot.

She said she could feel someone following her. A man tried to get her to roll her window down so she cracked it. He told her she was beautiful while another man tried to get into the passenger side. The woman said she was crying and laying on the horn.

Experts said sometimes your best defense is to be rude.

“I don’t want to immediately over react and make the situation more dramatic than it needs to be, but just let them know that no, I can’t help them, try to brush them off and get out of it before it intensifies,” said Valdez.

Police said no one filed a police report in these cases.

They encourage anyone who has had an experience like this to contact them right away.

No shit, one time, I slammed a car door on a homeless man’s hand. Outside of the liquor store, he asked me for some dough. I told him I didn’t have any, but he proceeded to follow me to our car. My girlfriend was with me so my senses were a little heightened. I told him no again, and sat in the passenger seat of her car. As I proceeded to close the door, he reached out and grabbed it, keeping me from opening the door.

That pissed me off, and I’m already on edge thinking about my girlfriend, so I just slammed the thing shut. He hollered, and looked at me like, “WTF dude?” as if he didn’t just aggressively invade our privacy, and we drove off. But, if I hadn’t have been there? Man. That could’ve been bad.

I did tell my girlfriend and her family members that were in the backseat, “I am not above whooping a homeless man’s ass in a liquor store parking lot.” Thankfully, it didn’t come to that. But, those kind of men are out there.

78% of our readers are dudes, so I’m lumping it on you guys to remind the ladies in your life to be careful out there in the streets.

Fuckin’ weirdos.
