Coors Light Literally Saved This Man’s Life

The power of beer, man. I swear it’s a magical concoction. Bad day? Beer. Good day? Beer. “Meh” day? Beer. It’s an elixir of life, and Clay Travis once called it the ‘nectar of men.’ Well, thanks to a couple of truly standup guys in Minnesota, beer is now proven to be a life saving beverage.

Jason Gaebel and Kwame Anderson don’t usually cross the bridge over Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minn. But this Wednesday morning, for no reason in particular, the beer deliverymen decided to take a different route, they told local news stations.

After dropping off a shipment of beer at a sports bar nearby, Gaebel steered the truck onto the bridge, crossing over the busy highway below. Then, they spotted a man standing on the bridge’s ledge on the other side of the fence.

“Bro, you alright?” Gaebel, the driver of the beer truck, shouted out the window, as Anderson filmed on his phone. “Come on this side, bro.”

Facing them, the man on the ledge responded that he was going to take his own life. Anderson cut the video, and called 911.

These guys kept the dude’s attention while police officers made it to the scene. But, what are the odds, man? This is one of those serendipitous moments when all of the stars just happen to align perfectly. They happened to cross the bridge at just the right moment, and this guy’s still alive because of it.

That’s practically a Kate Beckinsale movie, folks.

As the officers continued distracting the man, Anderson rushed to the beer truck, grabbing a 12-pack of Coors Light.

He brought the case of beer to the bridge’s ledge, opened it, and told the man that if he climbed down from there, the 12-pack was all his.

The man agreed, slowly retreating to safety, where emergency responders placed him in an ambulance and transported him to a hospital.

After he finished speaking with the police officers, Anderson started filming on his phone again.

“We just talked a guy off a ledge with some beer,” Anderson said. Officers smiled for the camera, giving him a thumb’s up. “Nice job, Kwame,” one officer said.

“It’s a good day,” Anderson said.

Alright, all of y’all out there shittin’ on Coors Light like it isn’t THE premium light beer out there can shut your damn mouths. I don’t see Bud Light out there saving lives. Certainly, not from Miller Lite.

But, seriously, at a time when humanity is really depressing, this shines a light on the good people out there truly making a difference. This is one of those stories you read and it hits you. I sat down and tried to think of as many jokes as I could, and I just kept coming up empty. Couldn’t help but wonder what I would do in a situation like this. I know y’all come here for humor, but hell – this is just a good story. This is one of those ‘faith in humanity restored’ type of stories.

Sorry for the lack of funnies. Now, go drink a Coors Light.
