Gotta Love This Old Man’s Grit for Shoulder Blocking a Sedan

I drive a 2006 Nissan Altima for those of you who don’t know about my blatant and unapologetic ’06 Altima swag. But, you don’t have to have that ’06 Altima swag to appreciate a good sedan. Those things are durable….I mean….they’re cars. They’re, by trade, made to be heavy duty. But, as much as I love a good sturdy sedan, I think I admire the grit and determination of the spirit of a strong-willed man even more. Let’s take a look at this old dude as an example.

As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram decides to take this video down.

“Back in the day I was the best ball player around”

First off, his boy fuckin’ hung him out to dry with that pitch. You gotta throw a catchable ball, buddy.

He threw that thing right in this guy’s face. So, he had to reach up to snag it and it threw him off balance. This guy could be the Barry Sanders of old guy backyard football, but his quarterback damn sure didn’t make him look like it. If this guy is Barry Sanders, then his quarterback is the Aaron Brooks of old guy backyard football quarterbacks.

But, let’s focus on his performance once he catches the ball. It’s tremendous, and you can definitely see his open field vision on display. You can tell it doesn’t matter what’s in his way – be it a linebacker, or a damn sedan – he’s going to lower that shoulder, and he’s going to bring the truck stick.

I feel sorry for that car. But, this is an old school way of training. Makes you tough, y’know? Nowadays, people like to lift weights and get massages and shit, but that doesn’t put callouses on your hand. No, you gotta get out there and hit cars, kick concrete, and eat nails. That’s what makes you a tough football player, and this old dude seems to understand it.

I love everything about this video, but aside from it being humorous, it’s also very instructive. Young football players across the world could stand to learn a thing or two from this guy.

PS. Is this Lee Corso? I can’t tell.

PSS. Do real journalists use ‘PS’ in their articles?
