Big news in the movie world this week as The Joker origin movie has officially been announced as a go. They got Martin Scorsese producing, Tom Phillips directing, and Joaquin Phoenix starring in it as The Joker. Join “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick and myself as we break down whether putting together this team was the right move or not.
Considering Brandon has yet to see Ant-Man and the Wasp, I offer up my spoiler-free thoughts on the movie and we talk about which has been the best Marvel movie of 2018.
That expands into a larger discussion about the best movies of 2018 overall, and really – that’s just Brandon talking because I’ve only seen like four movies in theaters this year. Three of those were Marvel releases and the other was that awful Jurassic World sequel.
Anyway, somewhere in there, we talk about Robocop.
And, of course, we can’t do an episode of BBOIYM without talking about what’s new in theaters and what’s out on home release. Brandon predicts the box office for the weekend, and we offer up a blast from the past for you all to check out on a new edition of Yesteryear’s Finest. It’s a barrel of fun.
