YUGE news today, folks! Just when you thought hockey season was over, the Nashville Knights have gone and done it! They are in the playoffs!
FINALLY!
I’ve been waiting to bust this bad boy out of the closet for years now:
22 years, to be exact. Haven’t worn this thing since the Knights lost in the first round of the 1996 playoffs. I was 10 years old then, and a lot of things were different about the world. But, I sure do remember Hugo Belanger’s 54 goals that year.
That’s why I’m so happy to see that the Knights are back in the playoffs. It reminds me of the good old days. It’s taken us 22 years, but we are now back at the forefront of the hockey universe.

OH MY GOD THAT IS WOMEN DRESSED SEXY PLAYING FOOTBALL! Don’t I feel embarrassed?!? I’ve brought you all here, thinking we were going to be talking about hockey, and boy – was I wrong or what?
I feel so stupid. Guess I’m going to have to put my Hugo Belanger Knights jersey back in the closet for the mice to keep chewing on.
I really wasn’t expecting to see that – when did Nashville get a LFL team? Don’t you think that sort of thing would be big news in a city that sells late nights, booze, and one big party to tourists? How did I miss that?
Also, when did the Nashville Knights stop playing hockey? My God – I’ve missed so much.
I love the differences in the team names here, too – like, everything else is meant to sound all sultry and sexy (with the exception of Austin), but NOPE – not Nashville. We’re the Knights.
But, in all seriousness, congrats to the only Nashville team competing for a championship right now.
You could’ve given me a million guesses and I would have never said that the Nashville Knights and Rusev would currently have the greatest odds to bring Nashville its first pro sports championship.
PS. Is Nashville Knights a play on ‘Nashville nights?’ Or, was the lingerie football league trying to honor the old minor league hockey team from 20 years ago?
PSS. Also, nice try “Legends Football League.” We all know you’re still the lingerie football league. Don’t try and class it up now because it’s 2018.
