We all know Alabama head football coach Nick Saban is a big Lake Season guy. The man has a palatial lake house that looks like it’s more fitting for a royal family than a football coach. He’s always out there wildin’ out in the Summer time. Recently, it came to light that his fuel pump went out (he definitely didn’t run out of gas according to him) and left him and some young players stranded in the lake. But, it’s this nugget out of a recent interview with 247 Sports that has brought us here today. In case you were wondering the kind of leader that Saban is…
Q: What are some other things that are fun for you during the summer?
NS: “I like playing golf. I love the lake. I swim in the lake, take a bath in the lake every day. Everybody kills me over that. People don’t take baths in the lake. I try have Ivory soap so it floats, you know? Miss Terry doesn’t … but I like that.”
Q: You’re not worried about snakes or anything?
NS: “Are you kidding me? I grew up in West Virginia. If you worry about snakes, you can’t do anything.
Love it…just absolutely love it. That’s what you want out of a head coach – championship king moves only. How do you think Saban won all of those rings? Because he had an outlet from all of the pressure – taking a bath in a lake. I bet it’s invigorating.
Every savant (and that’s what Saban is – a football savant) has his quirks that make him an enigma. But, if you listen closely enough, you too can pick up on their tendencies. Maybe you can even replicate them in your day-to-day life, too!
And, now we know – if you want to be a successful man like Saban, you should get butt naked and bathe in a lake. Any lake. Whatever lake you can find.
