Podcast: The Inaugural SoBros Investment Open

Cadbury Pringlebatch was kind enough to hop on the latest episode of the SoBros Podcast with me and kick off a project we’ve been kicking around for a long time: The SoBros Investment Open.

A few years ago, Cadbury, myself, a couple of the other SoBros, and some friends of the site realized we were all about at the same stage of our investing habit. So, we banded together, offered tips, insight, and just general support to each other.

For whatever reason, there’s not a lot of people our age actively investing. So, the idea to spread the word, encourage economic awareness and fiscal responsibility hit us pretty hard. That’s how the SoBros Investment Open was born.

On this episode of the SoBros Podcast, we talk about our own personal investment strategies, what brought us to the table, and where we like to spend our money.

Cadbury and I both have sectors that we’re suckers for, for better or for worse, and we highlight some of those as well.

Then, we get into the actual contest. At this point, you’re probably wondering WTF the SoBros Investment Open even is? Well, we lay down the framework – each guy gets $1,000 to invest however he sees fit. We’ll check in once a quarter over the course of the next year. Whoever has the most money by June 2019 will be declared the winner.

Again, we’re not experts. We’re simply trying to encourage growth and financial health. Do your due diligence and invest at your own risk.
