Who Should Win This Year’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches?

I’ll admit – I’ve gone on a bit of a WWE hiatus since WrestleMania 34. Between the Making Towns Classic and Southern Underground Pro, I’ve been much more involved in the Nashville wrestling scene. But, it’s nice to have a change of scenery, if even for a bit. With Money in the Bank approaching, I figured I’d weigh in with my two cents on who I think should win the two ladder matches. ‘Cause, y’know, that’s what I do here. I write about shit.

Men’s Winner: The Miz

He’s done the Lord’s work with the Intercontinental Championship over the past two years, but I think it’s time we ramp up the stakes for everyone’s favorite Hollywood A-lister. The guy has more than proven himself as a main event talent, and deserves one more good, solid run with the WWE Championship.

It obviously wasn’t going to happen on the same brand as Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman, but on SmackDown Live, Miz has a fair shot at becoming one of the major players, if you don’t consider him one already. Plus, how money would a Miz-Styles program be? You could even have this play into the penultimate feud opposite Daniel Bryan. I can’t remember the last time a WWE Championship match would have had such a long, personal, and heated build. The Yes Movement of 2014?

Women’s Winner: Charlotte Flair

I know the briefcase is typically reserved for and up-and-comer, but my line of thinking is here is a bit different. I’d love to see Ruby Riott get the briefcase – that woman is a star in the making. But, if you’re ultimately building up Flair vs. Ronda Rousey as the main event of WrestleMania 35, I think you have to give each woman every huge win you can to help build that match up.

Winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match would be yet another huge feather in Flair’s cap, and would further cement her as the premiere women’s wrestler of her generation. Plus, it’s an easy way to get back to a Flair-Asuka rematch, should Asuka top Carmella at Money in the Bank.

What do you guys think? Who do you want to see hoist the briefcases?
