How About This Shed That Can Cruise at 100mph?

Have you ever looked at a shed and just thought, “damn – I wish I could get in that thing and drive it up to 100mph?” Well, ladies and gentlemen, your day just may be coming. The 100mph shed is HERE!

A souped-up motorised shed has broken its own land speed record on a Welsh beach as it hit 100mph.

The Fastest Shed smashed its previous 80mph (129km/h) record for the fastest shed at a land speed event at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire on Saturday.

Owner Kevin Nicks said it was “marvellous” to hit 101mph (160 km/h) in what he said was the only road legal motorised shed in the world.

“It couldn’t have gone better, I’m so happy,” said the 53-year-old gardener.

Mr Nicks, from Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, spent more than £13,000 creating his bespoke shed on wheels, which now boasts a turbo-charged 400 brake horsepower engine that is more powerful than many sports cars.

Not only is it traveling at 100mph, but it is breaking records. Records this shed set before itself! It’s breaking it’s own records. WOW. There’s a huge story on why this man did this in the first place, and it’s pretty cool, I guess. But, I like to imagine this as a tale of the human spirit.

Is there no limit to what a guy with a dream can do?

It’s inspiring, really. I know it seems ludicrous – why would you make a shed that you can also drive at 100mph? Well, that’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that there’s a freaking shed on wheels with a motor. This is a man realizing his dream.

I can’t help but find myself inspired by this story. I think I will go figure out what I can motorize – maybe I will put an engine in a house and see what happens. Could put wings on a picnic table and fly it. Hell, maybe I’ll even take a dumpster and turn it into a submarine.

What I’m saying is, if Mr. Nicks can turn a shed into a speed machine, I can turn a trampoline into a helicopter. That’s how inspired I am.
