The Making Towns Classic is hitting the historic sports arena at the Nashville Fairgrounds THIS Saturday, May 12th. Your boys will be there, sponsoring the show, pushing some merch, and enjoying some damn good graps. 16-women will compete in the one-night tournament. Doors open at 3:00PM, the first session starts at 3:30PM, and the second starts at 7:00PM. If you’re going to be there, swing by and say hey to us. If you’re still thinking about it, well then hot damn – read on.

Papa Hales was kind enough to hop on the latest episode of the Checks and Championships podcast to talk about the event. We chat about the history of the hallowed ground that is the sports arena at the Nashville Fairgrounds, and why they elected to host the Making Towns Classic at a venue so rich in tradition. For him, it means memories of the Fargo Brothers and Tojo Yamamoto. For me, it’s the start of TNA, and seeing guys like A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels.

But, we also chat about the state of the graps in Nashville today, the work that the team at Southern Underground Pro is doing, and some other emerging promotions. We preview the 16 women coming to compete and Papa Hales offers his personal scouting reports on several members of the field. There’s even a bit of breaking news as Papa Hales announces that there will be TWO special attraction matches on the show Saturday.
