The NFL Draft Should Come to Nashville Next Year

We’re only a little less than two weeks away from finding out where the 2019 NFL Draft will emanate from. The finalist cities include: Cleveland/Canton, Denver, Kansas City, Las Vegas, and our own beloved Nashville, Tennessee. Regardless of where the draft ends up happening, it’s just nice to see the Music City in the running for big events like this. We just got the NHL All-Star Game a few years ago, we’ve shown we can handle the Stanley Cup Final, and we just had a party that 10,000 people showed up for just to see new Titans uniforms.

It was crazy – I ended up having to back out due to some extenuating circumstances. But, I saw all the clips. There were a ton of people downtown, drinking, just having a good time. The festivities started earlier on in the evening, and went until the fireworks went off well past 9PM. All of this over a simple tweak in the Titans uniforms? Can you imagine what we’d do for a big national event like the NFL Draft? Actually, you probably can – because the hockey world went crazy with Nashville fever during last year’s Stanley Cup Final.

Yeah, everyone knows what Nashville is all about in 2018 – we can throw a damn good party. But, I’m 31 years old – I can remember when Nashville was a city you didn’t really want to get caught up in. I remember growing up being terrified of East Nashville because of all the stories and crime. Now, that’s arguably the trendiest area of the city. You could’ve asked me ten years ago if I ever thought that Nashville would host events such as these

Well, the Good Morning Football team (a team I think is murdering every other morning sports show) recently discussed the possible locations, and I have to say that I side 1,000,000% with Kay Adams:

“Good food. Good culture. Low key one of the best cities in the country” – BOOM, nailed it. I mean, you can’t really put it any better or any more simpler than that.

This city has shown a propensity for making big events fun. I can already picture the stage set up down on Broadway. People slingin’ beers, just having a grand ol’ time. Maybe by then, SoBros Network can get a couple of press passes and we can be chuckin’ interviews and just downright covering every inch of the damn thing. A boy can dream, right?

But, anyway, NFL – it’s your call to make. Make the right one!
