PSA: Picnic Tables Don’t Make Good Bike Ramps

Picnic tables are a great invention of man’s desire. I love a good versatile picnic table. Sky’s the limit if you get the picnic table purchase right. They’re great for summer BBQs, entertaining guests, and they make the perfect platform to throw your opponent off of in a backyard wrestling match. However, one thing they aren’t good for is making bike ramps for you and your buddies to perform sick tricks off of.

As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this down.

I see the vision, I really do. But, in execution, man – it just fell completely flat. That poor dude is going to be picking splinters out of his gums for the next month. That’s why, when performing stunts, you never want to go second. As evidenced by this clip, the setup was great for one take, so the first guy made it. And, the third guy saw the second guy’s face implode, so he pumped the brakes. All in all, just something you need to be aware of if you’re going to be performing sick tricks like this in the back yard.

For what it’s worth, if you can prop your picnic table up on the side of the house like that, you do not have a quality picnic table. A quality picnic table requires at least two full grown and burly men to move. If propped up on the side of a pole, a quality picnic table will cause said pole to crumble as if it were made of cottage cheese.

Now I’m imagining a house made of cottage cheese.

Also, why didn’t the third guy just go for it? That would’ve been instant super-stardom. Either you pull it off and become a legend for doing impossible. Or, you eat it and make this video even more hilarious. Regardless, it’s a win-win for everybody.

But, I guess that’s showbiz, baby!
