BREAKING: New Law Lets Tennessee Turn Up On Sunday

Governor Haslam has signed official legislation letting us drink our liquor and wine on Sundays starting this Sunday.

That’s right, if you’re sitting around Sunday and have that craving for an old fashioned, you can scoot on down to your local liquor store and grab some bourbon and bitters and you’ll be good to go.

There’s no more craving drinks on Sunday funday, but not having any liquor in your cabinet. No longer we will have to suffer through beer and lime-a-ritas to get a good buzz on at the pool or lake on Sunday this summer. From now on, you can just get whatever you please on Sunday. Doesn’t matter if you want beer, wine, Zima, martinis, gin and tonics or a margarita, you can have it almost any day you want now.

Of course, the law does not allow sales on Easter, Christmas or Thanksgiving. I may be in the minority, but I’m totally fine with that, give those liquor store clerks a day off during those days and we’ll just get our goods the day before.

This brings the state of Tennessee closer to the 21st century and out of an era where religion dictated our laws. It was kind of silly anyway. Oh I can’t get liquor? I’ll just chug this case of beer I bought at the grocery store to get drunk. Looking forward to summertime even more now. Let’s turn up, Tennessee.
