Sammy Watkins is, in short, a bad man. Seriously, because of his injuries, and because of how stacked the rest of that 2014 wide receiver class was, he kind of gets lost in the shuffle. But, the dude can flat out ball. When he’s healthy, he’s just as lethal as anyone in the NFL. When he hit free agency, I was hoping he’d come to my Tennessee Titans.
Felt like he was just the type of presence they needed in the receiving corps, if they were going to sign a free agent at all. Get an explosive guy who can, please excuse my technical football jargon, run real fast down the sideline. But, also – one who has some real NFL experience and could help develop the young guys in town.
But, it simply wasn’t meant to be. Watkins signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he will undoubtedly do well. It’s all about getting some weapons to help the young quarterback Pat Mahomes along.
Well, earlier today – Watkins took to Twitter to declare that he is not human in what some people are calling a “bizarre move” for some reason:

You are a lizard king. Embrace that shit. Share it with the world. Don’t care what NOBODY says! And, honestly…now that I’m stopping to think about it. I’m tired of the reptilian elite hiding in the shadows. The Royal Family across the pond trying to conceal who they really are, pulling all the strings the whole while.
I commend Sammy Watkins for his declaration here today. There’s no reason not to be proud of being a lizard king. That shit is cool. But, I will say this – reptiles, with the exception of turtles, are notoriously faster than humans. There may be some sort of performance enhancing issue here. But, we can always look into that in the future.
And, please – if no one takes anything else from this post….let’s please get “Lizard King” to stick as a nickname for Watkins this season.
