After a bit of a rocky start, the Nashville Predators came back to beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avs took a 1-0 lead in the first, and when the Preds answered, the Avs answered right back. It seemed like it was shaping up to be an inspired performance, before the depth of the Preds set in and they took firm control. But, nobody is really talking about the x’s and o’s this morning, if you will. Instead, it’s all about our beautiful prince….the man himself, #9, Filip Forsberg:

This is just absolutely disgusting. Poor Sam Girard – he’s virtually dead on his skates. It’s bad enough that he’s a teenager to begin with, but then to fall prey to this. Forsberg will do this from time to time. People say the Preds don’t have an elite guy, but damn if that’s not elite, then I don’t know what it is. Just sick. And, I can sit here and make jokes all day, but the truth is, Twitter did it a lot better than I did.
Twitter Reacts
Fill Forsberg just threw down the gnarliest dangle of the playoffs completely turned Sam Girard into a oven baked sandwich. He just turned on the Girard shower and showered without soap that was Golden Corral gross.
— Big Heatdaddy (@DanyAllstar15) April 13, 2018
“Golden Corral gross” might have to become a thing.
I feel like I need to go to confession every time I watch the highlight of that Forsberg goal.
— Justin Bradford (@justinbbradford) April 13, 2018
Definitely feels sinful.

Hope he’s going there to teach.
Forsberg put the Frosty between his legs, went top of the drive through window, and then saluted Dave Thomas. Beautiful goal.
— Sam Page (@samtpage) April 13, 2018
Shout out to Dave Thomas.
I am going to watch that Forsberg goal every day until I die
— Blake (@_BlakeTucker) April 13, 2018
It could definitely sustain your life force.
The cool thing to remember about the stuff Filip Forsberg pulls in games is most of the stuff he does is on purpose.
— Dan (@DanDBradley) April 13, 2018
Sometimes, he is even good on purpose.
My friend Tom and his gf are in Bora Bora. If they look up to the skies in a few minutes they should see Samuel Girard’s jockstrap as it circles the Earth courtesy of #Preds Filip Forsberg
— Marc Nathan (@mdnathan) April 13, 2018
The new Total Eclipse.
Filip Forsberg’s statue outside of Bridgestone might now feature Samuel Girard too. There was nothing the Avalanche defenseman could have done.
— Dan Rosen (@drosennhl) April 13, 2018
Sam Girard…frozen in time – just like he was on the ice last night.
Pure filth. The only way this could be more outrageous is if Forsberg stops and signs an 8×10 glossy of himself for Sam Girard, before firing the puck past Bernier. https://t.co/vDSmQ0w3Ci
— Darren Haynes (@DarrenWHaynes) April 13, 2018
He is a generous Prince.
Whatever Filip Forsberg just did with a hockey stick and a hockey puck would’ve gotten him burned at the stake had he done that in the late 1600s
— Cody (@CodyRogers10) April 13, 2018
In 2018, it’s at least going to garner questions from the government.
Ight I’m back I had to change my pants after that Forsberg goal. Good lord
— Bryce. (@Bwl931_) April 13, 2018
Always a good idea to keep a spare pair of britches handy during Preds games.
Avs fan in front of me keeps yelling “Give me the D!” I think Forsberg just gave it to him.
— p – Herbie Brooks (@SoBroHerbie_B) April 13, 2018
Downright plowed him with it.
Seriously. Filip Forsberg just dunked on the Rocky Mountains. All of them. And Sam Girard.
— Dan (@DanDBradley) April 13, 2018
R.I.P. Rockies.
Of course, there were plenty of people checking in on the Capitals last night….
Filip Forsberg scoring a go-ahead third-period goal on a night the Capitals blow a third-period lead and lose in overtime is a little too on the nose
— DL (@davelozo) April 13, 2018
I will never get over the Forsberg for Erat trade for the rest of my life.
— KP8 (@KP8Design) April 13, 2018
@Capitals did you just see what Forsberg did
— Mike Pfeil (@mikeFAIL) April 13, 2018
Is is Game 2 yet?
