Aaron Donald Training With Knives Is Absolutely Terrifying

Aaron Donald is the best defensive lineman in the NFL. You won’t get much debate against that. He has been voted to the Pro Bowl in each of the four seasons he’s played. Was Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014. Voted first-team All-Pro 2015-17. And, in 2017, earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. The guy is, to put it simply, the truth.

Well, how do you think he got to the point? Rigorous training! As it turns out, part of that training regimen includes spending time actively seeking to evade a man who is trying to stab him.

Bat shit crazy. And, really – I’m not sure how dodging knives applies to football. Like, for the skill he’s trying to hone, does it really matter if there’s a knife in the dude’s hand or not?

Or, have I missed something? I mean, the league meetings were just last week. It’s totally possible I missed an announcement. Is it now legal for offensive linemen to wield knives and try to stab defensive tackles?

This is how you know a man’s serious about something, though. If he’s willing to dodge knives to get better, you know he means business. Literally putting his body on the line for the sake of improvement.

Maybe this is how I get to be the best blogger in the business. I’m just going to have somebody show up to SoBros HQ and try to stab my hands as I type. They don’t vote for All-Pro bloggers, but maybe I can get one of those Toast of Music City awards.
