Why 2018 Will Be Josh Brolin’s Bitch

Most of the world might have fallen in love with Josh Brolin as Brand in the iconic film The Goonies. Not this guy. I waited until he became a full grown man to take notice. Is this getting weird? You would have to be blind not be struck by his natural, rugged good looks. Though, I am actually speaking of his tremendous talent.

Now, that said talent is hidden in movies like Into the Blue and Hollow Man, but then 2007 came along. In the Coen brothers No Country For Old Men, Brolin plays Llewelyn Moss, a hunter who stole the wrong bag of cash. Still, that performance was just a tease of what was to come. The following year, he showed the world what he could do as our 43rd U.S. President in Oliver Stone’s W., and then nabbing his first Oscar nomination for portraying Dan White in Milk. Since then, he’s been building up an impressive catalog with films such as the True Grit and Oldboy remakes, Wall Street sequel, Sicario, Everest and last years’ Only The Brave.

Well, our boy Brolin is about to kick it up a few notches. This year he’s playing two HUGE characters and he ain’t going to disappoint. In case you haven’t heard—he’s going to be destroying mankind as the powerful purple Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, and will be kicking some ass as Cable in Deadpool 2. The two most monumental movies of 2018 and he’s going to steal the show in both. Guaranteed. I think I said that about Jonah Hex, too.

Seeing him bring Thanos to life in these mesmerizing Infinity War trailers will give you chills. And, while his casting as Cable caught many off-guard, there’s no denying he’s fucking made for it. Check this out if you don’t believe me. Somehow, he’s also found time to reprise his role as Matt Graver in the sequel to Sicario, Sicario: Day of the Soldado. The trailer is here and it’s relentless. If it’s anything like the first one—a taut, constantly uneasy cartel thriller where good guys do not exist and every action leads to a more jolting reaction—who knows what we’re in store for.

If by the end of 2018 you aren’t a fan of Josh Brolin, then I only have two words for ya!
