John Cena’s Road to Wrestlemania Should Culminate With a Match Against Steve From Blue’s Clues

For weeks now, John Cena has come out on WWE television and run his mouth about being a loser and not having anyone to wrestle at the WWE’s biggest show, Wrestlemania. Well, now it looks like Steve from Blue’s Clues is stepping up to the plate and issuing a challenge of his own.

Steve Burns, the former host of Blue’s Clues, wants to fight WWE champion John Cena for the hosting duties to the Nickelodeon show when it makes a comeback in 2018, according to TMZ.

Burns, 44, hosted Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2002 and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2001.

Cena was recently photographed in Burns’s signature striped green sweater during an audition for the new host.

Fuck it, let’s do this! I wanna watch that creepy little dude take on Cena. Hell, make it a ladder match and hang the Steve outfit up above the ring. Have Blue himself come in and do commentary, too. At least he could probably tell the difference between Bo Dallas and Rhyno. But, that’s neither here nor there.

Couple of things, though. First of all, WWE is stupid for not booking arguably its biggest star of the year at Wrestlemania. Like, “no, John – we’re not going to book you in a match because you suck. Just ignore that last year we booked you in a mixed tag match for no real reason. When have we EVER booked a big star in a Wrestlemania match regardless of whether or not they had a championship? You know the drill.” That’s a stupid premise for a storyline. But, hey – what do I know? I’m just a guy writing blogs. They don’t pay me to write wrestling angles, y’know?

Second of all, I don’t imagine Steve knows how to wrestle, so you might witness a live murder. I don’t know. It’d probably be like watching James Ellsworth take the Styles Clash over and over and over. But, hey – that’s showbiz baby.

All things considered, I’d say this is the match the people want to see. But, since Cena is too much of a loser for Wrestlemania, maybe they should have it at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards instead. I bet they won’t ban piledrivers.
