As It Turns Out, Taking Meth and Gouging Your Eyes Out Does Not Bring You Closer to God

Wow – another meth story here on SoBros Network. Part of me read this and thought, “y’know Stoney, maybe you shouldn’t write about this. You’ve got a pretty light-hearted podcast going. This is a pretty tough story to find humor in. Why don’t you sit this one out?”

Then, part of me thought, “no – the people need to know of the dangers of meth. Plus, you already asked Poppa Bear to send you the story and you don’t want to waste his time.”

So, here we are – talking about a poor, poor woman who ripped her own eyes out of her skull because she thought she had to sacrifice something…true story….

Courtesy of Fox News:

A South Carolina woman who gouged her eyes out in public while in a drug-induced high said she believed the drugs were bringing her closer to God.

I’m no expert, but that seems like a leap. I’ve never been on meth. But, if it makes you do stuff like this, well, then my goodness, count me out. It just seems like common sense – do I want to drink a beer and listen to some smooth jazz? Yes. Do I want to be blind for the rest of my life? No. But, to each his own. Everyone has their own way of coping with the depravity of the real world.

She said it all began last summer when she smoked marijuana laced with a narcotic that she believes may have been cocaine or meth. Following the incident, she left school and her job because she felt she was betrayed by the friend who gave her the laced substance.

Quick question – is this real life or a WWE storyline? This is more dramatic than when Rikishi ran over Stone Cold Steve Austin. And, folks – I don’t want to be that guy. But, this is why you don’t do the hard drugs. And, speaking of Stone Cold, there’s an adage of his that applies here. “DTA,” or “don’t trust anyone.”

She lost her job because she was “too embarrassed” to go to work after she picked at her face following her trip on the narcotic.

Eventually, Muthart turned to ecstasy as well.

“While on ecstasy, I studied the Bible,” Muthart said. “I misinterpreted a lot of it. I convinced myself that meth would bring me even closer to God.”

Well, I’ll be damned. To be fair, there’s a whole hell of a lot of people who don’t do drugs and misinterpret the Bible….buuuuuuuuuut that’s not something we’re going to get into here today.

Let this serve as a warning to you guys.

  1. Don’t do meth.
  2. Don’t trust anyone.
  3. Ripping your own eyes out.
