Sunday was a bad, bad afternoon for the Tennessee Titans. Marcus Mariota had a rough day at quarterback, but the offense struggled mightily as a whole. The defense played well, and they held the Arizona Cardinals to just four field goals. Unfortunately, 12 points was enough to win the game. Now, the team is saying all the right things this week, but the defense should be fuming. They put on a stellar performance, and the offense completely dropped the ball. This has been a recurring theme over the course of the last few games, and it has people questioning offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie.
For the most part, I agree that we should reserve judgment once the entire body of work is complete. But, at the same time, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be critical of the play-calling and game planning as of late. Especially when little nuggets like this come out:
Titans last play of the game was a throw to CB Adoree’ Jackson. He said they hadn’t practiced the play before. They just told him his route. Pass went his way. Interesting and sort of a statement toward trust level of WR core overall.

First of all: *corps.
Second of all, that is staggering. The moment that play transpired, I said, “why in the hell were they looking at Jackson?” And, that’s before finding out that they never even practiced this play. Unlike Cameron Wolfe, I don’t think this is a statement against the receiving corps. I think it’s just another instance of Robiskie getting too cute on offense and calling something that shouldn’t have been called. Feels like we’ve been saying that for months now.
Listen, I love Adoree Jackson as much as the next guy. It’s borderline man crush level. But, in that moment, you gotta look to your playmakers. I understand he’s electric, and if he gets the ball in the open field, he could be lethal. But, he’s not a natural pass catcher! That seems like common sense.
I’m not calling for the Robiskie’s head like a lot of Titans fans, but come on – you’d be a fool to read this and not at least think his seat should be heating up.
