The Biggest Loser of the Weekend Was Definitely Will Grier’s Finger

Nooooooot the best weekend for your boy. I went 2-3 in my Tank the 401k game picks, but it was my first losing weekend in like two months. So, it stings a little, yeah. One of those picks was West Virginia -3.5 at home against a middling Texas Longhorns squad. Well, guess what – that didn’t pan out well. Texas went into Morgantown and knocked around the Mountaineers to the tune of 28-14. But, as bad as my weekend calling football games was, you know who had a much, much worse weekend? Will Grier….definitely Will Grier….

Oh God. I’m going to be sick. I can’t even fathom how much pain he had to have been in. I mean, your finger is basically backwards at that point. Fingers are not supposed to move laterally, you know? You can curl ’em, you can point with ’em…all that good stuff, but if you see your finger heading sideways, that’s a huge red flag. You know something drastic has happened.

But, the thing that gets me about this is the casual way he walked off the field:

He just seems inconvenienced in a minor way. Like, “awww this pesky finger!” He’s holding up, like, “dad gum it – look what I gone and done now!” Then, he proceeds to just trot off the field as if his team just failed to convert a third down and they’re sending out the punt unit.

Grier is one tough son of a gun, but it’s a shame this had to happen. Earlier in the season, when it looked like the Mountaineers still might make some noise in the Big 12, I though he could’ve been a Heisman contender. Now, it looks like the only thing he’ll be contending for is a role in the next Scary Movie.
