“Mama Said,” Part 2

Ok so let’s catch up. I’m not a one and done type person, so let’s keep the momentum going.

Its been hectic since my last post. School, work, soccer, three kids, “The Hubs” sometimes makes it four, and my grandfather passed a few weeks back. That situation alone has been a huge stress to the whole family. It’s weighed down on me that’s for sure.

My grandfather was a decorated WWII vet, a man’s man, daddy, husband, granddaddy, friend, uncle, cousin, brother, he was everything to me and meant a lot to a lot of people. As a husband, he was more in love with my granny than any husband ever in the history of the world. I’ve never in my life seen someone look at their wife the way he did and never will. He was a supportive and loving dad, my daddy is living proof of how much he would spoil those kids. He spoiled us grands even more though, but he loved the greats more than he loved us. They got everything. (Nah I’m not salty).

Losing him was very rough on all of us though, as you may expect. He had been very ill for quite a few years. It all came down at once last March. He was admitted into the hospital never to return back to his home.

So now let’s get back to my life as a mom. The morning of the first day of visitation for my grandfather’s funeral I had kept “M”  home from school so that she could go. When I told her to go find something to wear she brings to me a spaghetti strap dress that is shorter and some button up booties. I told her, “no, go find something else to wear,” and that ensued in a torrential fit.  Here I am grieving the loss of my very last living grandparent and she’s going to pitch a fit about what to wear, so instead of taking her with me she went with “G” to my mother-in-law’s.  Kids really don’t give a shit about your feelings, do they? I mean hell, as I speak, or type, “Little E” is borderline pitching a fit because I’m not holding him. Yay kids!

I mean sometimes you just want to take a poop alone and you can’t even do that. Kids are great. They really are. But this #momlife is not for the faint of heart.
