Is Chick-Fil-A Opening in the New Atlanta Falcons Stadium a Joke?

Y’all, we live in The South. That’s right, capital ‘T’ and capital “S.” Everyone ’round here knows that if you get a hankerin’ for some Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday, you are shit out of luck. That place closes down for people to be with their families, rest, and worship.

Now, Chick-Fil-A is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Naturally, the Atlanta Falcons open up a new stadium, and the biggest fast food chain in The South has to set up shop there, right? RIGHT! Except….there’s just one problem….the Falcons play NFL games on Sundays!

Courtesy of ESPN:

Atlanta Falcons fans won’t get their Chick-fil-A fix at the team’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium for most of the team’s games, as the restaurant’s stand will be closed on Sunday.

The franchise famous for its chicken sandwich is closed on Sundays, and only one of the team’s eight home games isn’t on a Sunday — a Thursday night matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 7.

Yoooooo, I wish I had so much money that I could just open up a stand in a giant football stadium to do business for one game.

By the way, there is absolutely no worse feeling in the world than being hung over, forgetting it’s Sunday, and driving to Chick-Fil-A. That is one of the most soul-crushing experiences a Southerner can have.

The stand will be open for the two college football games, dubbed the Chick-fil-A Kickoff games, during the season’s opening week. The game between Alabama and Florida State is on Saturday, Sept. 2, while the Georgia Tech-Tennessee game will take place two days later on a Monday. The stand will also be open for non-Sunday games played by the Falcons’ co-tenant, the Atlanta United of Major League Soccer, also owned by Blank.

So, it makes sense now. I mean, Chick-fil-A isn’t going to make shit off of soccer fans. Do Atlanteans go to soccer games? Don’t know – it’s hard to say. But, between all the hillbillies from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama, they will make a KILLING in those two SEC games.

Zaxby’s recently signed a five-year deal to be the official chicken of the Falcons, but fans can’t get that, either. Its products are not currently offered at the stadium.

Yeah, SUCK IT, Zaxby’s!

Also, as Ralph Wiggum pointed out in the SoBros Slack group….this is the perfect time to revisit this internet classic:
