Get Ready for Game 4 by Watching Jeremy Roenick and Taylor Lewan Hunting Catfish

The Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins will take the ice for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final in Nashville tonight. It goes without saying that this is a pivotal game in this series. There’s a huge difference between a 2-2 series and a 3-1 series. Should the Preds win tonight, we’ve got an entirely different series than we thought after two games. If the Pens win, well – it ain’t gonna look good for Preds fan. That would mean the Preds would have to win three straight games to take the Stanley Cup, including two games in Pittsburgh. In case you missed it, the Preds played their worst hockey of the postseason in Nashville.

But, let’s save the analysis for the people who do it best. We’re a shitty comedy blog. You’re probably here for a slice of life, and in this case, NBC Sports’ Jeremy Roenick has you covered…

Courtesy of NBC Sports:

“This year’s Stanley Cup Final comes with a whopper of a fish tale.

While the Penguins lead the series 2-0, the hockey world has gained even greater exposure to the tradition in Nashville of a catfish being thrown on the ice of Bridgestone Arena when a Predators fan, Jacob Waddell, chucked a fish on the ice in Pittsburgh in Game 1 of this series.

The tradition has consumed members of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. The latest is NBC Sports hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick, who got his feet wet trying to catch the perfect fish before learning the art of concealing what is a rather conspicuous creature against his body.”

LOVE JR. NBC Sports’ NHL coverage generally gets shit on by the hockey guys, but I like JR. There’s something about him that makes him relatable – the kind of dude you’d want to have a beer with….or jump in a grungy river with…whatever.

Also, glad to see our boy Taylor Lewan still in on the action. Hell, the entire Titans offensive line has become imperative to this dream run – personally, I think we need more shirtless Quinton Spain…

By the way, check out the look on Lewan’s face in that photo – I’m beginning to think he sold his soul to the devil in this photo and that is what’s ultimately responsible for this run by the Preds.

So, man – you get Lewan and JR in the same room, and it’s high voltage electricity. Now, keep in mind…we’re watching a hockey analyst and a football player. I don’t care that neither are going to be nominated for an Emmy for this (probably…maybe…who knows?) – give me people jumping in a river, catching catfish all day every day. I love to see people come to our city and get in on our weird traditions.

The scene in Nashville has been insane. I’ve lived here all 30 years of my life, and I’ve never seen anything like it. Saturday was a huge win and a huge success for Music City, but we have to put it behind us and move on to Game 4. Tonight – fire ’em up.

Go Preds.
