Few Things Can Be More Demoralizing Than Another Grown Man Telling You You're Going to Eat Meatloaf When You Don't Want Meatloaf

I’m a big fan of meatloaf. My mom happens to make the best meatloaf in all of the world, and I consider it one of my favorite foods. But, there’s a time and place for meatloaf, and sometimes, it’s not about the dish itself, but it’s about the principle of choosing the meatloaf.

Courtesy of app.com“TRENTON – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says President Donald Trump made him order meatloaf when they dined together at the White House this week.

Okay – just reading this sentence alone….it’s totally demoralizing. Any way you look at it, Trump is seizing power here. He’s establishing dominance over Christie. Part of me is imagining Trump just sitting at his table, forcing Christie to eat meatloaf, and watching and laughing. There’s also a weird part of me that is picturing this spiraling into some weird 50 Shades of Grey type of encounter. That’s getting carried away. I’ve only read on sentence after all.

Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, joined Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

The Republican governor said while guest hosting a New York sports talk radio show Thursday that Trump pointed out the menu and told people to get whatever they want. Then he said he and Christie were going to have the meatloaf.

Ultimate power move here – Trump is a master manipulator. You give people the illusion of the choice, but then rip it right away from them. Especially, Christie. You think Trump has forgotten the campaign race? You think he doesn’t love every minute of making Christie his stooge?

“This is what it’s like to be with Trump,” Christie said. “He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.’”

Trump said “I’m telling you, the meatloaf is fabulous,” according to Christie.

“I’m telling you” is a sneaky way of basically saying “you’re going to do it my way.” Also, when did Christie start hosting sports talk shows? I wonder if he’d be interested in contributing to The SoBros Network.

Trump and Christie discussed the nation’s opioid epidemic during the lunch.

Christie on Wednesday signed a series of bills he requested to address the crisis, including a five-day limit on initial prescriptions for opioids and mandating state-regulated insurance plans cover treatment.

He said he didn’t talk with Trump about any jobs.”

Nope – why would you talk about jobs? Trump has jobs ON LOCK. They’re coming back. Don’t worry. It’s going to be terrific. He’s terrific.
